"God is faithful and fulfills his promises."
After your loss journey began, have you ever heard someone say that after the birth of a child and felt a twinge of pain? Of bitterness?
Maybe you're like me and you know deep down He is faithful. He does fulfill his promises. But that doesn't stop you from wondering why it feels like He didn't fulfill this promise to you, He wasn't faithful in this instance to you.
Maybe you wonder-why do people decree that God is faithful when they bring forth their living child into this world? Does that mean they looked at you with disdain when you were unable to do the same? Do they see someone that God didn't see fit to fulfill a promise? Do they know that sometimes that's how you feel?
It's unfortunate wording, friends. I don't pretend to know what God has in store for me with my loss. I don't pretend to know how He will fulfill his promise to me. Maybe it's here with Hope in the Waiting. Maybe it's so much more beyond just my work here. But I do know, even when I hear those words and feel all those feelings, that He is grieving alongside me and at the same time creating a future for me that I cannot imagine.
I wanted to share a few lyrics from a song that I am clinging to in those moments when I feel like He has forgotten me. Maybe it will uplift you as well.
